Re: New computer

Monday, my trusty HP computer that I've been bragging about being
perfect, with never a glitch, DIED. No warning. No blue screen of
death. No nothing. Just POP, and the screen is black, to stay black.

Eventually, I'll pull the hard drive and try accessing it so I can
retrieve my address book for printing. Right after I figure out how to
configure my new one so it works something similar to what I'm used
to.

So far, Vista IMHO, is the worst piece of *** operating system I've
ever seen. My Garmin software isn't compatible, so it seems I have a
$400 paper weight. My air card software won't load, so I had to
download it from Verizon. The new version of Spider solitaire sucks.
It took Office OK, but I can't get Excel to work, so most of my
Escapee documents are worthless.

What a pain in the ass.

Microsoft has had so many people asking for XP installed on
new computers that they recently extended the date by 6 months
beyond when they originally planned to stop production.

I just hope that my computer will hang in there for another year
or more. It is plenty powerful enough, but you never know when
this stuff will quit.
