I am able to control both the brightness and contrast. By adjusting those, the monitor works well both during the day and at night.

I don't like having it on at night. The glare cuts down on the visibility out of the windshield. I'm less concerned that I'll lose the trailer than that I'll bang some bonehead walking across the highway.
