I hear you. I don't want it near me either.

Frankly, I wouldn't care if he tore it down and DIDN'T rebuild it
somewhere else. Makes no difference to me.

Smith's Speedway Motorsports also owns Infineon
Speedway in Sonoma, Ca. Also known as Sears Point.

As people here mentioned, the problem is going
to be noise.

I'm not sure I buy into the noise complaint - especially when GB reports
that the neighborhood and school is a mile away. I went to a NASCAR truck
race at the Las Vegas Speedway about 2 weeks ago (not really a NASCAR fan,
but my son got free tickets, so what the heck, may as well go). When
leaving the race (I had to leave early- other commitments) I could not hear
the track noise from when I was parked - less than a quarter mile from the
main gate. A mile away would be quiet.

And why was the issue of schools brought up - do they race at Charlotte on
school days? Do they race on the streets near the school? What is the
relevance?
