So why aren't parents doing it? The
single parent families caused by AFDC
aren't educated themselves and don't
want their children to be smarter than
they are.

Ask any big city teacher how much
respect their students have for the
learning process.

From what I gather, the problem seems to
be; big cities in the north. Maybe we
should get rid of them.

Maybe you should educate yourself?

try (07/25/2007)

Texas has the highest teen birth rate in
the nation (63 births per 1,000 females
ages 15-19) according to the KIDS COUNT
Data Book, a national state-by-state report
released today by the Annie E. Casey Foundation.

Our men are very virile.

And can't afford condoms.

None large enough.

They're putting them on the wrong head.

They don't fit on the small one up on the neck, either.

You tried that, huh?

I have tried almost everything there is with the opposite sex.

The Texas Dropout Crisis: Magnitude and
Impact (01/23/2007) KIDS COUNT Director,
Frances Deviney, Ph.D. briefed legislative
staff on the costs of the Texas dropout
crisis.

November 17, 2006

While conditions for teens have improved in
Texas, teens statewide are significantly
more likely to have sex, drink alcohol,
drive drunk, or ride with a drunk driver
than teens in other states, according to
data compiled in The State of Texas Children 2006.

National Report: Poverty on the Rise in
Texas (06/27/2006) The percentage of kids
living in poverty in Texas has increased by
5 percent since 2000. **************** Hmmmnnn! Looks like things were better
when Bush was governor.

Yeah, we have a very weak governor in this
state, so he wasn't able to do as much damage
then as he has now as president. It is a
national trend.

As Bruce pointed out, that is another falsehood.
Nationally the trend is down but those Texas
figures were from just last year....

Has to do with the very unsuccessful "abstinence

only" program that the republicans provided
us with. Working like a charm, isn't it?

And the drugstores and gas stations no longer sell
condoms for those who laugh at abstinence?

Sure they do, but I think that the problem is that
all of them are made in China, now, and you know how
reliable things from China are.

Then wear doubles.

No need.

Then live with the consequences and stop asking for others
to bail you out of poor decisions.

Now, you see why it is so hard to communicate with you? You
misunderstand so much of the time. I am not asking anyone to
bail me out of anything. I am helping others that may have
problems.

Is that the best you can do? You lied about
the problem being in northern cities when your
own state is at the bottom. If everyone sticks
their head in the sand like you do, the
problems will never be addressed.

I don't lie.

What do you call a deliberate misstatement of fact?

A lie.

And that is what you did when you said it was just
northern cities that had those problems.

So you lied when you said northern cities had all those
problems? Cause what you described is much worse than it
is down here. Were you lying?

Nope. The problems are there but yours are worse. You're
probably in denial as you are with so many other facts.

So you were just wildly exaggerating, then.

That is just your misconceptions mystifying your

perception of the false dichotomy that exists in
your mind.

Translation: Robert was caught lying.

No, you are lying about that.

The proof is above.

Lies aren't proof.

The words you typed are there. That's the proof.

The proof of what?

I am actively working on the problem. What are
you doing?

Pointing out to you that lying about it or saying
you have no problem in your area is not working.

You're lying.

The proof is above.

More lies.

Let the readers decide after they read your words.

That is probably the best course.

And what other forces were at work in
their lives? Perhaps the ones that
have to resort ot AFDC are already
disillusioned and the ones that
didn't weren't? Your study is a
means to promulgate an idealogy and
nothing more. Anyone that concludes that a program CAUSES single mothers
is not objective. Unprotected sex is
the cause of single mothers, no sex education is a cause of single
mothers, peer pressure is the cause
of single mothers. But not a
government program.

Ignorance speaking. The rise in
illegitimate births correlates
perfectly with the advent of AFDC.

Did you know that every single heroin
addict in the US drank milk as a child?
If we were to prohibit milk, it would get
rid of heroin abuse, completely.

Not true. Many children are lactose
intolerant. It's more pronounced in some
ethnic groups than others.

No, it is true. Every one. The lactose
intolerant ones never became addicts. It is
the milk that does it.

So milk made you a moron and a heroin addict?
I understand morons thrived on milk in their
early years.

Never did care for heroin. Must not have drunk
enough milk as a baby.

And your brain cells failed to develop as a result.

They developed, but they are abnormal, I am told. I
somehow have an uncanny ability to spot bull*** when
I hear or see it. The doctors say that that is very
rare. Other than that, I am fine.

Fried on booze and various drugs, huh?

Not enough milk.

Then you should have suffered from Rickets.

Didn't suffer at all. Just recognize bull*** quickly and accurately.

I somehow have an

uncanny ability to spot bull*** when I hear or see
it.

Then you should stop shoveling it.

I have to get your posts out of the way, so I can post
mine.

Mostly denying facts.

Yeah, that is what you do, mostly.

The doctors say

that that is very rare. Other than that, I am fine.

But your brain is defective...

But still better than yours.

If that were true you wouldn't have your lengthy criminal
record.

What criminal record?

Or be homeless. That would be good.
Throw the baby out with the bath
water is not my idea of the way to
get rid of the abusers in a system.

Fatheads who create these programs also
create the opportunity for abusers.
Think about that.

Hang on, I have to write this down.
Where is my list? Oh, here it is, ok.
Socialist, scumbag, liberal, dirtbag, and
fatheads. I am trying to keep a list of
the insults, and I don't want to miss one.

Is your access to insults so limited?

I am not around very many people that have to
resort to them.

They must work for you and are afraid to speak
their mind.

Not exactly,.... They are just intelligent and
don't need them.

If they were intelligent, they wouldn't be in your
employ.

Liar!

They'd start their own business or become managers
instead of working in the heat and humidity.

We're tough. It doesn't even bother us.

Proof of lack of intelligence.

Our ability to withstand conditions that would kill men of lesser strength? No, it is just conditioning.

And the people that created the army
created the opportunity for deserters.

The government was given the task of
providing for the national defense. It's
in the Constitution.

But if a program has the possibility of
causing harm we should disband it. That is
what you say about welfare.

It's not in the Constitution. The proof that
welfare programs are failures is available in
every county welfare office.

Neither is the internet.

I didn't know the welfare office ran the internet.

Now you know.

Actually the average welfare office worker fought use
of computers because they thought computers might
replace them. This is straight from a welfare office
manager in a large county office.

Some of them need to be replaced by something.

All they need is a soft head like yours and bonding with
welfare recipients.

Imagining what my penis feels like?

The proof about welfare programs are in the

ones that have become productive and self reliant
from the help and training that they got from it.

Many folks did it on their own so obviously the
welfare office isn't needed to make people
productive and self reliant. It's a crutch.

More like a helping hand. But it can be a crutch.
At least it could be before the Welfare Reform Act.

Obviously you wish the old days were back.

The old days are not what they used to be.

Worse.

Much worse.

OTOH, the desertion rate is VERY low. We no
longer have the draft, ya know.

But still possible. We should not have the
military because it provides the opportunity for
people to be bad! Your reasoning sucks doesn't
it?

Yours certainly does. As I pointed out the
Constitution calls for Congress to provide for
national defense. Providing a welfare office for
freeloaders isn't covered. Rave about the "general
welfare" all you want, it means the nation as a
whole, not those trying to get by without working.

And yet, we have it and the supreme court has not
said that we can't. Doesn't that just piss you off?

We kept Japanese in holding camps too with the approval
of the USSC. We later regretted it.

And you should have regretted it.

But FDR issued his executive order and the USSC backed him
up.

You should still be ashamed.

What the heck is a party ***?

A *** put on the BB where people
could sign up for parties so the
hosts would know how much beer to
plan on selling. Thursday night was
party night because many students
left for their homes after Friday
classes.

Some students made money by holding
these parties.

You have managed to surround yourself
with a whole lot of bad people. I
seem to be just the opposite. I have
very few like that around me and when
I discover that they are that way,
they aren't around me anymore.

You mean I shouldn't have taken college
courses because these bad people were
also enrolled there?

You get further out in cuckoosville
with every post.

Maybe you are picking the wrong colleges.
Mine sure wasn't like that.

It offered the courses I wanted to take.

I forget that I am within 15 miles of over 20
different universities or colleges. I tend
to think that that opportunity is universal.
I should know better.

True.

And it is Georgetown. And still in the
same place. Actually, the city is
getting closer and closer to where I am
out in the sticks, so in actuality, I am
getting farther IN without even moving.

Then show us yours that prove what
a boon AFDC has been to society.

Current ones may be difficult to
find, since the AFDC program ended
with welfare reform. But I can find
articles about the welfare reform
program that are success stories if
you would rather have those. Would
50 be enough? How about a 100?

How many will it take to change your
mind?

Millions wouldn't balance out the
number of lives ruined by the AFDC
program.

That is what I thought. You just wanted
to send me on a wild goose chase that
wouldn't change anything, anyway! I knew
it.

You simply can't find the number of success
stories to match the number of lives
ruined. Generations not yet born will be affected.

No point in trying, then. You know, you
could say the same thing about the enlisted
men sent to Iraq.

Theirs was a career choice. They earn their
money. Welfare recipients don't.

And the people that were working for Enron?

Screwed by a bunch of crooks. Time to look for a
new job.

Yep. Hope they find one. Their unemployment
benefits are running out. Did you know that Enrons
collapse and its lack of funds means that the federal
government is having to pay the unemployment benefits
instead of Enron? It is all coming out of your
pocket.

Does the same apply to Global Crossing?

At least this administration put the Enron crooks in
jail. The Clinton administration just solicited
donations in exchange for looking the other way. The
DNC chairman looted $18 million out of Global Crossing
and then sold out before it went belly up.

Nothing happened to him.

Investing is a criminal act? I thought you were a free
market guy?

The way he did is. He used his connections as chairman of
the DNC to get inside information. How many free market
guys do you know who parlayed $100K into $18 million in a
short time span and then sold out just before a company
went into bankruptcy?

Ok, it is obvious that you know nothing about this other than what the RNC wants you to know, so I will be the bearer of bad news and enlighten you.

First of all, of this happened long before he was ever chairman of the DNC, so there is no way that he could have used his connections as chairman, since he wasn't, until years later.

Second, he sold his stock 2 full years before the collapse, so he didn't sell out just before the collapse.

Thirdly, George H. W. Bush, received 80,000 worth of shares in the same company in lieu of his fee for speaking before the shareholders of the same company. He sold his shares for 16 million. So how many free market guys do I know of that did that? Two.

Are you saying it was pure luck like Hillary's cattle
futures?

Luck? No. Savvy business skills. Yes

Was their career choice

their fault?

Maybe.

You know what a lot of them are doing now, don't
you?

Looking for jobs. Some may even be on welfare.

Could be. Never put all your eggs in one basket.
Those who worked for Global Crossing fared no
better after the former DNC chairman (Terry
McAuliffe) looted $18 million from the company and
it went belly up.

I thought that investing in a company when it is just
starting by buying stocks, then waiting for the stock
to rise, then selling the stock when it is high was
just capitalism. I did not know that you thought
that stock market investment was looting! I thought
you were a capitalist free market guy! Who knew?

The $18 million was the money of other investors. The
stock value when he sold was based on faked
information, just like the crooks at Enron. They also
tried to totally bail out before the collapse but the
law actually did something.

The eighteen mil was what his stock was worth when he
sold it two years before the collapse. What a criminal!
Selling his stock for what it was worth. And I thought
you were all for capitalism.

They were doing the same thing the Enron crooks were.
Hiding debt so the company looked a lot more prosperous
than it really was.

Yes, they were.

Strange how Democrats always recall Enron but have
amnesia when it comes to Global Crossing and their
party chairman.

At least the Enron bigwigs went to jail. McAuliffe
was protected by his Democratic pals (as usual).

They must have protected Bushs father, too, because
he did exactly the same thing.

See how inclusive the democrats are? They not only
protect

their own, they also protect the republicans.

Probably the Democrats had money invested in the same
scheme..

Let me tell you the secret scheme. Buy low, sell high.
Shhhhh! Don't tell anyone!

Isn't that the way it was? Democrats were deep in the S&L
swindles. Ask the Clintons.

No more than republicans.

Absolutely. Around here, if you have
friends and family, you are not
likely to get into a situation where
you would need any help other than
them. But if you are alone, it could
be the only place to turn. I
volunteer for a local charity
organization that has a food pantry
and clothing store, etc. called "The
Caring Place". It was established by
area churches to help with those who
are less fortunate because there was
no other organization in the area
(Williamson County). They have the
ability to give short term help in
the form of food and clothing,
perhaps a temporary place to stay,
maybe a little cash. Sometimes, that
is all that is needed.

Sometimes, a longer term commitment
for help is in order. When that is
the case, the personnel there help
the person or families apply for
government assistance so that they
can have the time to get back on
their feet. It is not an easy task
to do that, especially without any
help. The ones that I see come
through that organization are the
ones that I base my judgements on. I
don't see many freeloaders coming
through. Just people in trouble. I
am not going to make any judgements
about how they got that way, just
that they need help. But they don't
seem to be freeloaders. They are
genuinely in need of help.

One of my daughters in law has worked
nearly 30 years in a big city welfare
office. I know all about the system,
how it works, its failures and the few
successes. Many of her reform recommendation have been adopted.

An expert on the system that doesn't know
the difference between a progressive tax
and a regressive tax. No wonder those
big cities are in so much trouble.

Obviously you have your own definition. And
remember those big cities were in Texas, not up
north as you claimed.

You are a coward for not speaking out about
the injustices at Waco.

OK, I will speak out now. I think that those
police officers should have been given far
more recognition for the hard work they did
at Waco. And then they had to watch
helplessly while those fanatics committed
suicide. Satisfied?

They know better. I wouldn't want to bear
their burden of guilt, especially after 168
people died at OK City because of their acts.

So they can add those to the 80 odd people they
murdered at Waco. Pleasant dreams.

They may not sleep as well as they used to, but I
am sure it is not from guilt.

It's from guilt. They had many opportunities to
act other than the path they chose but they
consistently chose the path of murder for revenge.

So McVeigh showed them the fruits of the seeds they
planted.

Do you like Charles Manson, too?

He was in jail when the Waco massacre occurred.

So you are a follower of his!

You were probably one of his *** boys during your prison
days. I don't see much difference between you and Manson.

You probably can't.

How about Richard Speck?

And Mr Speck, too!

Not at Waco either.

How do you

feel about OJ?

As guilty as the ATF and FBI but at least there was a
trial.

So you think he was innocent?

I guess you don't read well. When were the ATF and FBI
tried and found not guilty?

By not being found guilty.

And reports show that cities in Texas have
far greater problems than those in
Minnesota.

Reports can be misleading. If it is worse
here than there, then I cannot see what the
hell you would be complaining so much about.
Things are pretty damned good here.

Especially if you deny what's happening all
around you. LOL...

I always tried to do more than what was
expected of me, not less. You, OTOH are just a
plodding sheep, satisfied with the status quo.

Hardly a sheep. I do plenty.

And make things worse from what I can learn.

What have you learned that I made worse?

Encouraging illegal aliens to remain in the U.S. by
providing them illegal jobs.

You say that like it is a bad thing.

Criminal, according to federal law.

But what would a criminal care about breaking laws?

It's a vocation.

You say that like it is a bad thing.

I just work toward goals that are geared

more towards reality.

More welfare? More taxes to put more people on
welfare? Some goals.

Just the opposite, but I do it with actions rather
than just words. The words are just for fun.

So if I call the Georgetown food kitchens I will hear
about all the time you spend there? Is this a guilt
trip for being a criminal?

http://www.caringplacegeorgetown.com/

Why would you think that helping a charity would be a
guilt trip?

Making up for your costs to society as a loser.

I can see how you would only be able to misunderstand this in that manner. It has to do with your misconceptions. But I don't blame you. You don't have the skills necessary to be able to identify the truth. It is a shortcoming you have.

You would be surprised how much you can

accomplish if you work on things that have a
basis in the real world.

Your remarks about northern cities being the ones
with problems showed your connection to the real
world is rather tenuous.

So you were lying again when you told me how bad it
was up there?

Not at all. I mentioned the problems that still exist.
You started the lying by saying how much better things
were in Texas. Unfortunately for you, I backed up my
statements with facts, something you shy away from.

Your description of how it is up there is much worse than
it is down here, since I know how it is down here, then
if the statistics say it is worse than there, you have to
be lying.

Nope. The statistics showed where Texas stands in national
rankings. Yours are just worse than the cities I described
in northern states.

And your descriptions were wildly exaggerated. When you lie, I cannot be blamed for the conclusions that are made based on your lies.

How is that campaign against the Clintons going,
anyhow?

Keeps me out of the bars and gambling casinos.

You would be better off addicted to crack than
campaigning against the Clintons.

Is this experience speaking?

Crack wasn't around when I was using drugs. But I have
seen a few crackheads. They were in better shape than
you are, so....

That's one crackhead judging another so we can't trust it. Just as we can't trust a career criminal like yourself to
be neutral about other criminals.

Criminals stick together.

Bwaaaahaaaahaaaahahahhahahahhahahah! Nice try. Your life is obviously inferior to the life of a crackhead. A crackhead at least has something to look forward to.

Criminals usually support other criminals. The "no
snitch" rule.

Been listening to rap music?

Just a discussion about criminals in general. You weren't
mentioned though.

Of course, not.

Spent any time in jail yet?

Yes.

I suspected that.

Just ask, I'll tell you. No need to sit around
suspecting. But,...that is what you do.

Yep. I'm well known for my ability to read character.

At least imaginary ones.

Can you swim?

Like a rock.

Probably wouldn't be a good career choice for you
then. But it sure does provide a good cash flow.
The guy that I worked for back then made about 22
million dollars a year by my calculations. He did have to spend 2 years in prison, though.

Did he have it all stashed for when he came out?

Well, he now owns quite a bit of land down in Mexico.
And a few homes. And a few airplanes. And a yacht. And
a few cars. At least he did last time I saw him. He
could be back in prison for all I know.

He was some capitalist.

I'm surprised you didn't stay in the business. Or were
those illegals you hired carrying more than their
clothes when they crossed from Mexico?

Being shot at by the federales can change the way you
feel about things.

Ah! Good thing you didn't volunteer for my field in the
AF.

Yep.

I am not worried about my

accomplishments and what I have
contributed. Let someone else tell
you. I am proud of it, though, just
hope I have enough time to do more.

Sounds to me like you already wasted a
good share of your life being a bum.
You got a late start.

I only spent about 6 months as a bum and
that was the months between the last two
years of high school when most people are
bums.

Not most people I know. I held jobs
immediately after graduation and still was
only 17 when I joined the Air Force.

Only after graduation? Jesus, my father took
me down and got me a regular job before
school when I was a sophomore! Our school was the largest high school in the US when I
was a sophomore. They had too many students
for the space, so they split the day into two
sessions. 6;00 AM til 1;00 PM for the
juniors and seniors and 12;00 noon til 7;00
PM for freshmen and sophomores. My dad got me
a job as a helper on an apartment complex at
the corner of Paredes Line Road and FM 802 in
Brownsville. It was called the Borders Apts.
and I believe it is still there. That is
where I learned spanish. At first I was mad
about having to work, but it got me out of my
old job which was mowing lawns and a paper
route. The construction job was much easier
than mowing those lawns. Remember this was in
Brownsville, TX. Hotter than hell. All
year.

I had started mowing lawns when I was 12.
After a year, I had earned enough to buy a
riding mower and my parents called down to
the city police and I got a permit
(handwritten) to allow me to drive the riding
mower on city streets, but ONLY to and from the jobs. I was doing about 15 lawns a month
by myself. And that was edging with a
machete! There were no weedeaters back then.
I did not rake though. Every one of my
customers knew right up front that I did not
rake and they were OK with that except for
this one old lady that lived two houses down
that would not pay me until I raked. It was
a small yard, but I just hated doing that one
because I had to rake it up. I hated raking
for some reason. I don't mind it now.

My paper route was a weekly most of the time,
so saturday mornings I would have to go and
do that, early. I got up a circulation of
around 75 papers at my peak. I had a daily
route for awhile, but that only lasted about
2 months if I remember correctly. That was
along time ago. I was only 10 or 11 then.

During that time, my father would get side
work when he wasn't working at the port. I
would also help him with those and if I got
paid for it, I don't remember it.

I remember the first time that I had to help
on a real project. I was probably 5 or 6. My
dad was building a workshop and since we were
pretty poor, my dad would collect bent nails
and put them in a bucket. When he was
getting ready to start that workshop, he
brought me outside and gave me a six inch
long piece of railroad rail and a ball peen
hammer. I had to sit there with a five
gallon bucket of bent nails and straighten them out, then sort them into the different
sizes. When I had a few handfuls done, they
would come and get them. If they bent any
when they were building, they would pick them
up and bring them over to put back in the
bucket for me to staighten again.

I have worked my whole life.

Even when you stayed in homeless shelters? I
didn't count part-time jobs or summer jobs when
I mentioned "after graduation".

I have only spent maybe 5 nights in homeless
shelters. I could always find a place to stay
with friends or even strangers. You had to move
around alot so as not to wear out your welcome,
but I was pretty well liked and I helped out
wherever I was, so I was usually welcome for a
night or two.

The homeless shelters kick you out early, but I
would be gone by then to get to the Manpower
office. You miss breakfast that way, but in NO
it was always grits. I never have really liked
grits and I am not a big breakfast person.

rest of the time I have held down full
time jobs. But I could have done it
better than I did, you are right about
that. If only we had known what we know
now, back then.

Read his book. Among other things,
he worked at a community center for
the underprivileged in Chicago, did
work as a civil rights lawyer, was a
state senator in Illinois for eight
years. If you are interested, when I
get through with my research, I will
pass it all on to you.

Please. No self-serving biographies of
someone running for political office.

I didn't think you were really
interested. Just looking for an opening.

If I want to read fiction, I prefer spy
mysteries.

I wasn't talking about fiction.

Biographies are fiction if the source is where
the information came from.

Ask Kerry.

Kerry who?

John the gigolo Kerry.

Never heard of him. But I don't hang out with
gigolos much.

Good thing he didn't get elected president then.

He was running for president? What a coincidence. There
was another guy named John Kerry that was running for
president. I voted for him. How did your friend, the
gigolo, do?

Do what? You mean Kerry? He lost of course. He's a loser
like you. LZ

And yet, I still live a better life than you ever could. How does that make you feel? Angry? I see alot of anger in you. But that is understandable. You may understand the plight of the hopeless better than you think you do. It tends to make you angry, just like you!

Might want to see someone about that. It could change your life for the better.

Remember LZ, when you decide to get better, I am here to support you.
