LOL, here's a remedial history lesson for you Carl. I assume you're
referring to July 20th *1944*--two weeks after the successful allied landing
at Normandy. At that point the German army was also in full retreat on the
Eastern front. While the failed assassination attempt was directed at
Hitler, what the German officers attempting it were really opposed to was
losing the war and going down the tubes *with* Hitler. By then the German
officers knew the war was lost and they had been doing so much dancing
around with their plotting that they had to try to kill Hitler before the
plotting was discovered.


There is a huge difference between contributing to a pre-decision debate
of alternatives, post-decision learning from mistakes, and outright
sabotage. Bush seems to have learned from his mistakes, hence the surge.
But you and your ilk are doing your best to undermine and sabotage a
decision that is currently the nation's plan of action.

Of course, you would also be sufficiently ignorant to consider that the
Constitution has adequate provisions for constraining and removing a
president who is not acting in the best interest of the nation. Why don't
we see your ilk pursue those legal avenues? Why did your beloved Pelosi
declare on Day One that impeachment was off the table?

Because impeachment is a political process and they don't have the
necessary votes <period>. The ilk are pursuing legal avenues that have some
chance of success.
