Yes, actually they've dropped quite a bit... they gave me a free ACCU-
CHEK Aviva tester with the multiclix lancing device and it's great
(totally painless - to me anyway). My first fasting blood sugar
reading was 6.4... it had been running around 7.1 to 7.2. At first I
thought it was a false reading but they tested me with another
(OneTouch I think) and got the same readings.
I also went on the free clinic diabetes 'education' and learned a lot
of useful stuff from the doctor who ran it and the registered
dietician. Two more sessions to go - very worthwhile. It's reinforcing
the useful advice you, Neon John, and others have given me...
