They closed the East Gate road at about 2:30 PM today because of theWe drove to the end of open road Monday. They closed it at Lake Butte
Columbine 1 fire. It's now well over 3,000 acres, and growing and moving
toward US 14. Winds in the area are running at 30 +/- mph. Smoke in the
area is heavy at times, and the visitors are a bit nervous. :-) As of now,
nothing to worry about here at the RV Park.
Here are a couple of pictures:

overlook turn off about 9 miles east of Fishing Bridge. We could see smoke
to the south and southeast from near the lake stretching northeast toward
the highway.
The parking lot at Fishing Bridge RV Park was almost empty so we stopped to
see if Bob was working and found that he is off on Monday and Tuesday. We
will stop by later on one of his working days.
We have two fires going now near us north of Yellowstone. One was started
by lightening last Thursday night about 19 air miles southeast of us and was
up to 12,000 acres late yesterday. The other is over the mountains along
the Boulder River and is probably 30 miles or so away. Apparently it
started over the weekend.
