Bush and Brown meeting:

In his opening comments, Brown avoided using the term "war on terror" and asserted that "terrorism is not a cause, it is a crime." He also described Afghanistan as the "front line against terrorism." Bush usually describes the war in Iraq that way.

So. Can we expect Brown to send Scotland Yard and some truckloads of bobbies to the "front line" in Afghanistan to fight "crime"?
Terrorism was a crime. It took Bush to turn it into a war,
ennobling the perpetrators as "soldiers". Maybe when it's a
crime again, we'll have more success fighting it.

If we were just fighting criminals, a lot more people would be on
our side. But noooo. We've got to go and fight Islam.

Bring our soldiers home from Iraq and Afghanistan, and send the NYPD to Pakistan?

Are those the only choices we have? Sounds like a trick question
to me. The same sort of trick question that got us into this
mess. You still looking for those WMDs?

You are still lost in false dichotomies. A handful of Saudi
malcontents kill 3000 people in NYC, hide in Afghanistan and
Pakistan, and we declare war on Iraq, on the way to the whole
world.

You haven't learned a thing, have you? What's it gonna take?

We might enlist any government to fight crime.

Enlist a government to fight crime? Aren't they - and we - already doing that? Terrorists are being caught all over the world. Who do think is catching them? Vigilantes? No. Depending on where and when, they're being killed/caught by military and crimefighters.

We're never going
to get them to declare war on Islam.

We haven't asked them to. Nearly everyone in the world is being very careful to say "radical" Islam. And they're already at war with radical Islam - if they're not too outnumbered to fight back. So what exactly do you want to enlist governments to do?

Jesus, bill. Five years on, and you still haven't learned a damn
thing.

I've learned a lot - I just don't agree with The World According to Bob. I think Bob is short on clues, is far from being the world peace architect, the master diplomat, and military strategist that he thinks he is, and forgot to pour the footing before he fabricated his imaginary skyscrapers.

And try not to say "Jesus" in a non-religious context - it offends some people, Although, since you're a liberal, you probably won't reprimanded.

Theory don't mean squat if it don't work.
