What is "resetting" though? That is what has me going. It just dies deader
than Kelsey's nuts and then comes back, completely on its own 30 seconds
later. Would a failing battery do that? And, assuming that the failing
battery means less amps, why would the lights stay bright while it was
trying to turn over?
At one time I had a chafed line going from the solenoid (the one that
switches the electrical system to the coach batteries when the engine isn't
running) to the coach batteries. When driving on bumpy roads, the chafed
part would make contact with the frame and shorten out the system. The main
circuit breaker would then trip with a clicking noise and reset. Would take
about 30 seconds.
My suspicion is that there is a failure in the starter system, probably a
loose wire, dirty contact, etc. When you tried to start in the past, the
heat would bridge/clean the contacts. However by now they are failing
completely.
