Washburn WI has a nice old coal pier you can fish from. I'm not sure what campgrounds are nearby.

Bayfield is a neat little town, full of antique shops and you'll want to take the ferry to Madeline Island. You can charter a boat for a half day of fishing for lake trout, salmon, brown trout and splake. The catch is split among the party and you'll have some tasty eating.
