One thing that struck me as odd was the fence lines. Millions of acres of upper Michigan, no one home and yet it is all fenced. Much of the land had little to say for itself. It had pristine beauty. It must have also had hunting or vacation cabins. Private property. Keep out. The view from the road was disturbing.
