I am looking for a router compatible with my computer setup. I have
considered a Kyocera KR-1, buty it is not compatible with my setup.
The KR-1 accepts wireless PCMCIA cards. My modem is not PCMCIA.

My modem is a Verizon Wireless USB720 modem which plugs into any USB
port. I can connect and get a broadband Internet connection anytime I
am within range of a Verizon Cell tower. The USB720 is 3G 1xEV-DO
compatible. I use this modem instead of the PCMCIA card style because
I can use it in the USB port in my workstation as well as the USB port
imy laptop.

I would like to get a router that will accept the USB720. Does anyone
know of a compatible router?

These guyshttp://www.draytek.co.uk/products/vigor2200usb.htmlused top make
one but it is nolonger offered. They replaced it with a 2500usb...but no
longer offer that one either. Maybe you could find a used one on e-bay.

The reason we have a hard time finding them is USB is not consistent with
high speed networking. USB is much slower than ethernet.

Pardon me if I am wrong, but I think ethernet is not relevant to my
issue. The Kyocera KR-1 router will accept a Verizon Wireless PC Card
that connects via a PCMCIA slot to the router. The purpose of the
card is to provide an Internet Connection. Ethernet is still used to
connect the router to various PC's, etc. The USB720 wireless modem I
have is similar to the PC Card. It is just the Internet connection to
the router. In my case, the modem has a USB connection instead of the
PCMCIA slot. If I find a router, I still plan on using ethernet to
connect to my PC's, etc. I just need a router that has a USB port
that will accept a modem. Ethernet ports & WiFi will still be used to
connect to PC's & peripherals.
