I have sparrows building a nest in the engine compartment of my Class
B/C RV. I have removed the beginnings of nests daily several times. I
went camping last weekend for 4 days, when I returned, they began
building again in the same area.

I am concerned they may build a nest when/where I least expect it and
it may catch fire.

Any suggestions?

I have the same problem with my mailbox.

I think the answer is to just keep evicting them. They only have
a short time to get to nesting. Pretty soon they will find
another place close by, without the obnoxious landlord. :o)

"House" sparrows are an imported species and are not protected by law.

They should be shot on sight. If you live in a "no shooting" zone, this can cramp your style but mousetraps, roosting sticks connected to voltage and box traps can make them avoid your property.

Here on the farm I haven't seen a sparrow in years since I waged unrestricted warfare on them for 25 years. Right down the road is a farmer with flocks of them but they have learned to avoid my death zone.
