Sally Field peddling something for bone loss and the big sell is not that it's any better than the competition but you only have to take it once a month instead of weekly. BFD is all I can say. Probably costs twice as much but, hey; once a month is sooooooo much easier.

I love that commercial. Sally says, "My friends have to set aside time every week, but I only need to take this pill once a month." Makes me laugh out loud. Setting aside time "once a week" to take a pill. That might take all of 10 seconds - and to avoid the pain and suffering of taking a pill once a week, she takes hers once a month. Laugh out loud funny.

"Alendronate and risedronate (Fosamax) must be taken on an empty stomach, first thing in the morning, with eight ounces of water (no other liquid), at least 30 minutes before eating or drinking. Patients must remain upright during this 30-minute period. Ibandronate(Boniva) must be taken on an empty stomach, first thing in the morning, with eight ounces of water (no other liquid) at least 60 minutes before eating or drinking. Patients must remain upright for at least one hour after taking this medication."

Found this on the web site someone pointed to. Apparently this becomes a scheduling problem for some women.

Sally doesn't touch the stuff. Her "friend" does.

Are you up to date on Sally?
In 2005, Field was diagnosed with osteoporosis. Her diagnosis led her to create the "Rally With Sally For Bone Health" campaign with support from Roche and GlaxoSmithKline that co-promote Boniva, a treatment for osteoporosis.
