A 26.5 foot RV is small enough to take to the Wal*Mart, for example,
for major shopping. I'm on my own and an RV this size will be more
than enough for me. Setup and break down is easy peasy.
Also if I continue with the jewellery business and doing the craft
show circuit, a Class C this size is probably small enough to take to
the show and boondock in the parking lot. This way the hound can come
along and I don't have to go home at night to take care of her.

However, my fultiming is going to have to wait an extra year. My ex
and I have been battling over separation assets and it has cost me
significant $$$ to get rid of him so... I need a year or so to replace
that.

The plan is to sell the house now, rent something cheap and cheerful,
save like mad and invest the proceeds from the house and savings. I
will have the RV by next spring and set it up in a seasonal site in
commuting distance of work. I will move into the RV for the summer
and maximise the savings. I'll hit the road in the fall of that year
(2008).

This is really depressing but that's life. I'm trying to be positive.
But trust me, I'm going to have to hold my nose real hard when I write
that cheque.

PS: Regarding my plan, comments and suggestions are more than welcome.

Is the jewelry thing your main job now? Or is this just a hobby
you hope to expand in retirement?

Are you actually retiring at all, as opposed to just taking a
break to RV?

You might email Kevin, he and his better 3/4 do the jewelry thing
on the side. He can't actually retire, though, because he's
supporting a dozen cats, plus bill horne in his dotage.

We all have our crosses to bear.
