That was the kicker for me. I couldn't get a ghosted drive to
function in any computer other than the one from which it was
originally ghosted. I didn't mess around with the sysprep stuff.
Just seemed like more work than starting fresh for what I needed.
Please post an update if you're able to get it to function in a
different computer.

I never had that problem with desktops - just laptops. But then, I
wasn't working with XP - just 95, 98, and 2000.

I didn't have that problem either until XP.
