How do you schedule things when you travel?
I don't worry about it. If I'm moving when it's scheduled to run, too bad,
but that hasn't happened in the last several months. The last time I left a
campground before 8:00 am, was last October, in Mass, the last time I
traveled after 8:00 pm was December 30 of 2001. :-) When I'm stopped, the
computers are on, 24/7. Now, I realize that we travel, and camp differently.
I stay as close to the electric bush as possible, and you don't.
I find that my laptop is never turned on at the right time, and
when I'm using it I don't want to waste the cycles. Makes things
too slow.
What I would do in that case is have 2 shortcuts on the desktop, out in the
middle of the screen where they are had to miss. Full backup Monday (or
whatever day you want), and Daily. Once every, whatever day I set, I would
press the Full backup Icon, and I would do that when I had something else
planned, like sleeping. The daily, or incremental is fast, because it only
backs up changed date, so I could do that while I shower, or eat breakfast
or dinner.
That can work, it's a matter of remembering, setting up a reminder of some
So I have to remember to do things manually, from time to time.
kind, and like I suggested above, the name of the file can be the reminder.
For me, having all my data on a second, D: drive has made live easier. If,
for any reason, I have to reformat, and reinstall the OS, my data doesn't
get touched. Hard drives are cheap, tempers aren't. :-)
