Sorry. Thought I was talking to Bob Hatch for a minute there, a
fount of sarcasm, impatience, and dubious self-assurance.

Never miss a chance at a cheap shot, do you, Bob.

Wasn't cheap. I paid full price.

Oh yes it was. I don't take shots at you while posting to someone else.

But lately you have had an edge to you.

Really?

You don't see your
remarks as sarcastic? Or quick to judge?

No. But lets examine the exchange in this thread.

You said:
"Of course. My point originally, and still, is that in this age
of viruses, worms, and buggy betas masquerading as consumer
programs, backup out to be easy, fast, and seamless. It should
be able to use any storage device normally installed on
computers, and any port or communications device.

And it ought to be a basic part of the operating system.

It is none of these things.

With all their resources, Microsoft should have addressed this
decades ago. How hard can it be?"

Now, based on that post, it seemed to me that you might not be aware that
there was, in fact, a backup program in the OS, that could be scheduled, so
posted:

Well, maybe not any.

And it ought to be a basic part of the operating system.

Start Menu>All Programs>System Tools>Backup.

Do it one time, or schedule it. I didn't like it so I use Norton Ghost, set
to backup one time per week with daily incremental.

It is none of these things.

Just curious, what do you want more than what is there already.

Apparently not to hard, since it is there already. :-)

Feels that way on the receiving end.

Nothing there insulting. Simple facts and a line of steps to get to the
backup program. I also made it very clear that I did not like the program,
did not use it, and named the program I use. Then you said:

"And do you think that abortion qualifies?"

And I posted:
"What did I say in my post?"

I said that, because I had said, "I didn't like it so I use Norton Ghost,
set
to backup one time per week with daily incremental", and I, for some reason
thought that line made it pretty clear I didn't like the program, and used
something else, but the backup program is in MS XP, and it can be automated.

But you needed to get a bit short, and just a bit insulting, with your next
lines:
"And what did I?

Sorry Bob, you've come in at the end of a discussion I am not
inclined to repeat.

Microsoft Backup is a pustule on the rotting carcass of Windows.
In fact it is just the sort of program that makes you want to
take an axe to your laptop and go out and find honest work.

It is certainly neither easy, fast, not seamless.

'nuff said."

OK, I guess you don't see anything in that post that could be taken as
"sarcastic, or quick to judge"?

Others can question you, ask additional questions, point out where you might
be asking too much of what the OS offers, and you don't take cheap shots at
them, but when you respond to Kevin, you cheap shot me. Uncalled for,
unnecessary, and purposely insulting.

If you think I am "sarcastic, and quick to judge", you need to take a look
in the mirror. As a wordsmith, you seem to like to cut and twist with
keystrokes.
