But hey, a clone *is* a backup. It may take 6 or 7 hours. But
if you can depend on the process working by itself, all that

I've got an 80G disk with about 50G on it. It takes a little over an
hour - but that's across IDE, not USB.
Does Ghost automatically reformat the target disk each time? Or
does it do a file add and replace by date? IOW, does it act in
any way like a backup program, or is it simply a cloner?
Damn, I think I just saw a yellow warbler at the pool. First
time I've seen one this far south. Beautiful lemon-lime color.
Hey, a pair. Maybe I can get a picture.
Bob
I've never seen a yeller warbler in Texas, I do take a bunch of pictures of Turkey Vultures and dead dillers.
I haven't either. That's why it stood out among the jays and
doves and others bathing in the pool. It could have been a
Scarlet Tanager pair out of breeding plumage. But that would be
even more crazy.
Of course they took off as soon as I dove for the camera.
The backyard is pretty lively right now. I've been watering a
lot to get this grass started good, and there's clouds of midges
- thousands - wavering in the air, maybe 4 - 6 feet up. When
you walk through them it's like fluttering cobwebs. Some of the
birds seem to like flying through them with their mouths open.
Red dragonflies hover through them, too. Giant yellow
butterflies. Lots of hummingbirds, both light green and
ruby-throated. Brrrrt.
Squirrels, of course, who seem to have gotten the message about
staying out of the tree above me, at least when I'm out there.
Jays and Robins and Sparrows. A flock of 20 dove or so. The
juveniles are funny, flying goofily over and over through the
spray. My back door is dusted with white splotches where they
keep careening into the glass and bouncing off. Boink. They fly
erratically and in unpredictable directions, which I suppose will
be a survival characteristic in a couple of months.
A persistent toad. A couple of grass snakes, one of which came
into the house. Some longish albino looking lizards. A bunch of
those tiny lizards that lose their tails when you pick them up,
and can walk upside down on the ceiling, I forget what they're
called. And an owl nearby I've never seen, but hear at night.
All this in a space 50 feet by 75.
Take it from me. Put in a decorative water fountain and you'll
get lots of company.
Bob
That's cool. I love birds nearby. The complex where we bought our house looked like a rather sterile environment but the previous owner had a burbling fountain in the front yard (along with a bird feeder) and a waterfall made from two stacked half-barrels in a corner of the patio at the rear. Lots of birds around. If any are sparrows I will have to figure out a way to discourage them without running afoul of the law or some cranky neighbor who can't tell a *** sparrow from a warbler.
By constant vigilance I have managed to keep sparrows off the farm for over 30 years. The word is out, they don't even try any more.
