Larry, my FF retains the color change at that site after shutting
down FF and coming back, but I don't why yours isn't. Check
Go|History, and if something like "Bass Fishing Report
#127672...yadayada" is not in there, then that's why the color change
is not being retained. If it is in there, I don't know why it isn't
working. If it's not in there, I don't know why.

Thanks bill. Every hint helps. I am determined to get to the bottom
of this. I like the other features of FF.

When I opened FF a few minutes ago and went to Go/History I found that
it had history for the current session only. So I went and checked
again. In Tools/Options/Privacy/History it has retained the 30 day
setting but seems to ignore it.

I then closed FF with the sidebar Go/History opened and when I
reopened FF I found that it had no history at all but loaded history
for the current session as the 5 tabbed pages loaded. ( I put the 5
tabs there so it would take a bit of time and I could see what was
going on. ) It is creating a new history for each session and not
retaining it. I had recently sent a few emails to places where they
claim to answer FF questions but so far no joy.

I am beginning to think it may be some Win-Xp setting that is causing
this problem. A setting somewhere must be wrong for it to not save
any history when it clearly is marked to do so . Or, it is saving it
but not loading it when restarting.

Larry, still searching for answers.
