I'm a bit concerned...
We're staying up in Payson, AZ right now in our 2005 Winnebago Voyage.
It's pretty nice up here - does warm up to the mid-90s during the day but
cools down nicely at night.
Payson was always a nice place to go on summer weekends the 9 years we
living in
the Phoenix area.
My parents would really like us to come down to see them in Phoenix this
weekend. The predictions are for 115 degree heat - and a possibility of
record-setting highs around 120 degrees.
Have them come visit you! You'll all be a lot happier.
What are the concerns of having a MH in extreme heat like that? No, we
wouldn't be staying in it, just parking it and staying with my parents
for a
few days. I would of course be planning on turning off the fridge, but
are
there other problems I should worry about if it's out in that kind of
heat
for 3-4 days?
I doubt your refridgerator will keep itself cold enough - especially if
the back
of it ends up facing the hot western afternoon sun!
If it was me, I'd either have them come up to Payson or I'd leave my RV in
Payson and drive the toad down to see them (do they have a guest room?).
The fuel cost you'd save could even be applied towards a couple nights in
a
motel room (don't worry, in July, Phoenix motels never fill up).
I would do that, except we just have the MH and no car. Believe me, I WISH
we could prevail upon them to come up here! I think we'd enjoy it a lot
more. Maybe they could spend the weekend up here with us -- my dad has to
work Thurs and Fri (we were going to come down on Thurs night).
Either way, we will end up driving through the Valley on our way back home
to Southern California next week, so Phoenix isn't out of the way, just way
too hot during the day.
We have been on the road in the MH since January so we're on the home
stretch now.
Thanks for the tips.
