Screwing the base to the oak stand is dubious IMO because the screws
might
pull out or the TV base might crack at the holes you drill for the
screws--the base is small in proportion to the size and weight of the
screen
so lots of leverage when trailer motion tries to lift the base.
Horse hockey. The TV really doesn't want to move. Gravity wants it to
stay where you put it. Screw it down and forget it.
We have an LCD wide screen, HD ready, TV that has a small stand we use in
the trailer on trips. The screen also can act as a computer monitor and has
wing speakers. The screen part is heavy as hell but the stand is not much.
I don't know if Hunter's TV is like that for sure, but I'm sure with mine
the heavy top part from trailer motion would soon lever out any screws
trying to hold the base down. We carry it face down on the sofa when
travelling and put it in the TV place when setting up.

Barry
The LCD monitor does have a good stand and sets on a PDP pedestal on the dinette booth table with bungees around it and the table top.
