Second any advice on what to get? Just get aSorry, forgot something.... DO NOT try to use a laser printer on an
conventional all in one unit and use inverter? Battery
powered unit
Can it be done? What type to get...inkjet or laser?
inverter. They draw huge pulses of current for the ink drying heater.
I had a neighbor's laser printer drive my 4KW generator whoopee when we
tried to power his laser printer. The pulsed load and generator
governor did not like each other at all.....all kinds of speed surges in
the engine, and the printer faulted.
Definitely get an inkjet... we run ours on a 300 watt inverter with the
laptop computer too, no problems.
