John, you have occasionally given helpful technical advice here --
albeit too often smothered in your own self-adulation -- but personally,

Like him or not, why do you feel it necessary to knock what he's
doing? He didn't like his situation, got off his ***, and did
something about it. Your jealousy and pettiness comes shining through.

Anyway, good luck -- and I mean that sincerely, because you're gonna
need it. Keep those log books straight and watch out for those cops you
hate so much. They may be waiting for you and your guns -- and
especially your bad attitude..

Talk about damning with faint praise, this last bit sounds so
hypocritical of you: "Anyway, good luck", indeed. Why not tell him
you hope he makes a rousing failure of his new career and be done with
it? It's one thing to dislike someone - ask me how I know - but it's
decidedly gauche to send him off with your bad wishes.
