I didn't know that ducks would kill their ducklings. In our park by the
lake we have lots of males because the coyotes often catch the hens on the
nest...they wont leave the nest but the drakes will.
This morning we lost a baby rabbit to our cat. He was living in the
shrubbery in front of the house and we had hoped he would move ASAP since
our dog had run him out of it once or twice. I hate it when that happens.

During the day you can view live pics of a nesting eagle. (Looks like
daily reruns after nightfall.) I saw there are two eggs in the nest
this morning. Gets really addictive watching this! [:0)

Speaking of eagles..... our babies are flying, but not off the tree
yet. They are branching and ready to take off any day. We spend way
too much time in the driveway staring into the scope.
Sadly yesterday we were treated to one of the ducks getting killed, by
one of the adults.... we knew it was happening, but it's not a pretty
sight.
Maybe today is the day they really fly.

Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well-preserved
body,
but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "...holy
***...what a ride!"
