So what say you? How do you break-in a new engine?
I follow the instructions in the manual. One thing I do, whether they
say so or not, is change the oil at 1,000 miles. Then start changing
it every 3,000.
I don't tow anything and I drive gently the first 1,000 miles or so.
No flooring it, no slamming on the brakes etc....
I always, even now with Bruiser, hesitate before putting in gear after
starting. I feel like it gives the oil a chance to circulate around
where it belongs.
When any vehicle I'm driving is still cold I drive gently until it
warms up.

Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well-preserved body,
but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "...holy ***...what a ride!"
