Frank, help!

My Mozilla newsreader is mucho messed up. I posted to the MZ group. I am
having problems with the message bodies not coming through. I thought
I'd take out my account and do it over. Now everytime I click on one of
my subscribed groups it asks me if I want to subscribe and downloads
headers for the past few days even if I've marked them "read."

TIA,
J

Janet, just a suggestion. Download Nitscape 7.2. I've been using it
for quite some time and find it great. It will import your Mozilla
stuff and there won't be any problem making the switch. I used the
Mozzila suite for quite awhile and find the Nitscape version pretty
darn good. I do use Firefox for browsing though.

Hi,
I don't think you can get Netscape 7.2 anymore. The newest version is
8.1 and you can't read mail or newsgroups with it.

I just downloaded it (7.2) from Netscape. It is just like Mozilla 1.7

I use Netscape 8.1 for browsing the internet. Thunderbird for mail and
Agent for newsgroups :) Netscape 8.1 is just a tad better the Firefox,
IMO.

I like Firefox as a browser.

Janet is having the problems with the subscribed news groups because
she deleted her account and must have erased all the news group
information. Once she has told the program to subscribe to them again
she will be ok. Only problem is having to download all the stuff and
mark it read or delete it again. I'll bet now she knows not to do that
anymore :)

the problem is that everytime I click on a NG, MZ is asking me if I want
to subscribe. It has the headers in the count, but I must have found the
right button to click because it isn't downloading all the headers any more.

thanks, Rich.
Hi Janet,
I didn't think they had 7.2 available. I used to use that for mail and
surfing. I tried the next Netscape upgrade and found they had taken out
the mail and newsgroups program. I tried to stick with 7.2 for as long
as I could just because of the mail program. It started having issues
with more and more web sites so I finally upgraded to Netscape 8.1. It
has everything Firefox does plus. At least this version allows you to
put a mail icon on the tool bar that can bring up your mail program. It
is a very stable browser, better then Mozilla 1.7 or Netscape 7.2.
Agent is also a very good news reader and mail program at least the
older version I use. Don't know about the new one that just came out.

Take care and Happy Campin...
