One of the last things my cardiothoracic surgeon said to me before I
went under for the bypass was, "Do you mind if I pray for us?" In my
doped up mind popped the irreverent thought, "Man, if you have to ask
for outside help I'm really in deep trouble."
It must have worked, I'm still here two years later.
