I've heard that Windows Media Center causes a lot of problems. It's a cheap price, however.
Janet, with one more year on her Inspiron
I had heard the same, and therefore went with Windows XP Professional.
Also saved a bit of $$$ by declining Office Professional and buying it on eBay for about $100 less.

When I got my Dell, a little over two years ago, they offerd me Word Perfect Office for less than I would have paid for an upgrade by a licensee. Corel still supports it as was evidenced when I developed a small glitch after doing an update. They have a toll-free number and people who speak American pretty well. The techie found my problem and emailed me a file to patch. The entire ordeal, including wait time and having him call me back took 20 minutes. Micro-who?
