Hi Harold. Don't need an email address, just a name. Folks who don't

Anyway...
There are a couple of options I can think of.
thanks John
I've restored an Airstream so I know the advantages/disadvantages of a
vintage trailer. Since I will be using the new trailer as a primary
residence for over a year while I'm building my new house, I need
something fairly large. Old trailers are typically quite small (Spartan
Mansions aside). It would be desirable if things like a washer/dryer
and woodburning (or pellet) stove could be installed.
I like the 5th wheel slide-outs because they are so roomy. Not
concerned at all about towability since once it is parked on my land it
will stay there for quite a while, afterwards as an office and guest
cottage, connected to full hook-ups.
Harold, if you're not worried about towing why not think about a TT?
A travel trailer the same length as a fifth wheel has far more roam.
Whereas the travel trailer does not pull as well as the fifth wheel
but because you do not plan to tow it why not go with a travel
trailer.
I have a 27 foot fifth wheel my holiday Rambler and as I understand it
you can do quite a bit of customizing from the factory. They have a
32 foot presidential

that's pretty pricey but a comes with two slides.
Hope this helps,
I also considered buying a used 5th wheel and tearing out all the oak
cabinetry, replacing it with stainless steel or nice hardwood cabinets.
Replace the grandmother-style barcaloungers with something a little
more cool, maybe IKEA leather club chairs (would save a lot of space).
Paint the walls or cover the floral wallpaper with something else,
maybe wood. Tear out the carpeting and replace with hardwood floors,
or polished cork.
But it seems to me that there must be at least one manufacturer that
does not use all that cheap flashy oak cabinetry and fake brass
fixtures, don't they at least offer a "Delete" option like new cars
where you can choose to remove the radio. Or they should offer an
alternative interior design scheme IMO that does not cater to buyers
exclusively over 55.
