I've been known to filter people who continue to top post after they've
been asked nicely not to. I realize top posting is the convention in
some places, but here it's not.

It's MUCH easier to read a NG if everybody posts the same way, whatever
it is. Since the long-standing, established custom here is to SNIP
(hint, hint) and then bottom post, I do it that way. If it were
otherwise, I'd change my style to suit the majority.

It's just the polite thing to do. But not everybody on Usenet is polite
-- and some are deliberately obnoxious.

GB in NC

i will take that as a hint and try to post on the bottom.
but the short time i have available for computers i could forget.
i mostly just read, unless i dont understand i normally wont post.
from some experience gained here it is best just to set and watch.
in the long run i can get the points and not suffer some of the
castigate.
what is the policy of signature, i see some do and some dont.

A matter of preference. If you have something that you wish to use
that makes your point, is significant to you, or just because you can,
then go for it.

But remember to use the proper sigh delimiter so that knowledgeable
news readers can automatically snip it.

It's dash dash spacebar return.
