OT: Smelling the Roses

This newsgroup has a lot of OT postings. This newsgroup has a lot of RV related postings that disintegrate into OT postings. At least once every month some irate member dons the net-nanny apron and chastises us for superfluous crap. So what!

Over the years I’ve participated in my share of flame wars. Tempers were raised and not very nice words were exchanged. So what!

Over the years our members have rejoiced together and have mourned together. We have shared each others’ triumphs and tragedies. We may cuss each other; we may snipe at one another and we may behave in ways our mothers would have spanked us for, but we really do care about each other.

I have come to see this group as a community. Our physical presence may be as far as a continent apart, but when it counts, our hearts are close.

We should all take a second or two to appreciate our community. It’s special.
