Since we are focused on the cost of the New Horizons mission here, lets look
at what that cost is:
http://pluto.jhuapl.edu/mission/missionFAQs.html#projectedCost
Their projected breakdown per person in the U.S. is 20 cents per person, per
year. Two bucks each. Heck, I'll give them a whole fiver and let 'em keep
the change.
BTW, the mission objectives extend way beyond ust studying Pluto. There's
lots of stuff out there for the payload to look at.
