A number of years ago, my [now former] employer decided to abolish the
observance of a State Holiday and, instead, let the employees each have
their birthday off. [Birthdays being considered a good randomizing
method...]
Just in case 2 employees in a workgroup had birthdays on the same date
seniority was to determine which person got the specific date and which one
got the workday immediately before or after.
In my 5-person workgroup THREE of us shared the same date. [Different
years.]
