Bob, I have no need to go to "Indolence Ave". I have been to
Auschwitz. I have looked into the ovens.
And I didn't know he was 9 years old. I don't know how old he
is. What I remembered was that he was in the War on the German
side, and fired on American troops.
Before you pull your knickers up around your shoulders, you might
want to actually read the first five or six posts I exchanged
with Carl. You will see that when he objected I gave him reasons
for comparing his way of thinking with the Nazis, and specific
examples to back it up. You will see that the context was state
sanctioned torture.
And you will see that he immediately and repeatedly started
spewing out the vilest sort of violent racist rhetoric. He
seemed quite comfortable with it.
I'm wasn't then and am not now going to back up an inch in the
face of that sort of trash.
I haven't been to modern Germany since the 70s, and it may be
that I was tone deaf to what passes these days for their rules of
polite conversation. Carl has lived here for 50 years or more,
but still hasn't caught on to ours.
Or maybe he has, and doesn't care.
At least I had a point to make. You can follow my reasoning if
you want to look. It's right there in print. If you don't want
to see it, nothing I can say will make you.
Suit yourself.
