I have tires on my 5er that say on the side...trailer radial. So I assume
they do make tires specifically for trailers. Why? I do not know.
If the rims and tires are the same size, it may work for short term, but I
would advize you to carry the lightest load posible for the shortest
distance posible. That would not be a long term solution. But I might try
it to get out of a stuck situation only.
Now...I am no tire expert. I sold them for four years, but I was only an
installation expert and a master salesman. I was not a tire engineer. Take
my advice for what I charge you for it.
The resident tire guru will be along shortly to ask you to read the
Michellin Tire Guide. It's a good source of intformation about trailer
tires, RV tires and so forth.
