Not that I think it is right, but I have to agree with Rich. She did get
two years use out of the laptop. Why should she get the full purchase price
back? If nothing else, it should be a prorated amount based on the useful
life of the laptop. Dell probably says the useful life is about two years.
If that unit cost 2800 bucks two years ago, I would bet the same unit today
would be close to 600 bucks.

However...I'd be more inclined to take this up with DHL. They lost the
unit...they should have to pony up.
