I have two user accounts set up on my latptop, one for me and one for

Aiyeeeeeeee!!! No, no, no! Make yourselves log in with an admin account
if
and when you need it and use normal accounts for normal usage. Trust me
on
this one.

OK. I had set her up with a normal account, but I wanted to install some
apps on her side, and needed to change it to admin. I'll switch it back. Are
you saying <I> should use a normal account also?

I cannot open multiple Explorer windows. <control+N>
won't work, and when I select <file/new/window> it only resets the
old window. I've checked the box in <tools/internet
options/advanced/reuse windows for launching shortcuts>, and I've
gone into the registry to check that she has the appropriate command
setting in <HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Internet
Explorer/Main/AllowWindowReuse>. None of it changes anything.

I've disabled and uninstalled Google Toolbar (some website mentioned
that it could be blocking new windows as a popup) and I've tried
running a registry sweeper. I have no idea what the problem is, but
it only exists on her side, not mine.

Any ideas?

Download and use FireFox instead and learn how to use tabs. I know this
doesn't solve your IE problem, but it *is* a better way.

Hee hee. I won a bet: I told her the very first piece of advice I would get
was to change to Firefox.

I might have gotten her switched over, but the problem with the multiple
windows still bugs the hell out of me. I hate the little ghosts in the
machine that develop: it makes me fear that all sorts of gremlins are at
work behind the screen, giving away my account numbers and losing
irreplacable data. Call me paranoid, but....well....but nothing. Call me
paranoid.

I haven't switched over to FFx because I can't figure out a) how to have it
log into yahoo.com automatically, and b) how to read newsgroups.
