Well said. Here's what's going on now with her work: She had one of her photos displayed at the New Texas Talent show in Dallas (that one eventually sold), and she had a showing at a gallery in Georgetown (just north of Austin). She sold four or five photos at that one. At the end of October, she has a showing at a gallery in Nashville. And she won an award from the North Carolina Museum of Art. Also, one of her photos sold at an auction to benefit the Texas Photographic Society, and she got the cover of The Elegant Texan (oxymoron?) magazine.

So it's really just a matter of continuing this direction. Printing, framing and shipping costs are considerable, but that's what it takes to get her work out there. And if her work is out there, she'll eventually get more showings, and ...

The only problem is that with a daughter just starting college, she can't afford to quit her dayjob (and live on a librarian's salary?!). So for now she can't dedicate herself to it completely.
