Once, when I lived well out in the country near Orland, Ca. real pheasant
country, we found a rooster, long dead and rather smelly, but 'intact.'

It was pheasant season, so my girlfriend's grandfather hit on the splendid
idea of propping it up across the country road, so that from a passing car
it looked like a rooster in the cover. We were treated to several "great
white hunters' blasting it from their vehicle windows and rushing to ...
YUK! ... @%$@^ .... not retrieve it <g> The sport ended quickly as
replanting our decoy was a less than pleasant task, but it was fun while it
lasted.
