And I wonder who had "Fortenberry" and "30 seconds" in the "How long it
will take some nitwit to blame Bush" pool?
But in any case, if the NO situation is partially Bush's fault, Clinton
shares equal blame as the same things happened under his watch, and
moreover, the (stated and on the record) Clinton Administration policy
was, basically, flood control is a local issue, not a Federal one.
Of course, the real answer is, as I've already said, that it is neither
Bush's or Clinton's "fault" in the sense that they truly could have done
anything to prevent the situation, but failed to do so.
And as an aside, if I were a Dem, I'd be careful about tossing all the
blame over the net at the GOP. While I don't think either party was "at
fault" in the above-mentioned "coulda-but-didn't" sense, the Mayor and
Governor of LA are Dems, Clinton's record is no "better" than Bush's,
and the backsplatter from Dems trying to make it a "vast right-wing
conspiracy" is likely to come off as silly as the first "vast
conspiracy" or worse, sounding a little like "I DID NOT have financial
relations with that levee"....
