Or didn't see it. Or is drunk. Or many other things.

If you draw it understand the consequences. All of them.

The ones right after you pull it, the ones a day after, a year after.

Pulling a weapon might be the best thing at the time, but I don't
think it's the best think most times. And it is almost never the only
option.

It is an option with a hell of a lot more consequences than other
ones... And knowing what they are well before you make that decision
is a good idea. Such as how the local jurisdiction views such things.

Knowing what to do once you have - what is the line between self
defence and fighting for example - is also sensible.
