Re: What's Going On?

So I turn on the news today. Something I haven't done in a while. My
husband watches the news, but I'm usually either on the computer,
reading, or doing other things not related to the television. I don't
read the newspaper; I don't read magazines.

I have a high I.Q. I'm good at math, and I'm good at being me. But if
I were to pick one thing I do best, I'd say I'm best at being me. I'm
not a famous actor or sports athlete, I'm not a doctor or well-known
scientist. I'm just me. Not really anything special. I'm probaby
just your average person.

Anyway, that's off-topic. As I was saying... I was watching the news.
I have no idea what's going on. I'm confused. What on earth is wrong
with these people? Bombs, guns, flames, smoke, people being carried
away on stretchers. It's horrifying. Then, another tsunami.
Everywhere there is chaos and mass destruction.

What am I doing here? If I learn more about what's going on in the
world, will I feel less alone? Or maybe just the opposite would
happen. Maybe I'd feel more alone. But I've lived 28 years in my own
little world. I really haven't a freakin' idea what's going on in the
world.

Should I just go back to living in my world or should I start to get to
know earth, my country, the government, the universe, other countries,
science, health?

*What's going on?* has been the group chant for ages. I'm convinced
that the world at large is an obscene illusion of after image
experiences without sound or subtitle, each death but a small blank
paragraph in an ever larger story where nature randomly falls deeply
asleep at the keyboard. Individual human experience - a living event
of exploration by domination and exploitation that appears to flow from
a superior perspective and position of influence, but only for as long
as we disfunction as prisoners thinking on small islands of individual
awareness: inside the box.

One truly must be intoxicated by faith and hope, to walk the outer
pathways of this primitive world. Stay out of harm's way; seduce the
monster world with creative reduction. Don't be a victim on the global
information highway while trying to live in the lower world, or when
playing in yours. Better to live with the self, and build the personal
adventure of a lifetime within that relationship. Enjoy the trip
beyond the common! Practice good will and kindness to those unable to
detect or understand sarcasm, and whether it is indeed a politically
correct vehicle to deliver subtle and penetrating sharp points, without
due appologies for the talent. Be a competent and useful eater;
support the instinctual advancement of intelligent recipes for happy
living outside the slaughterhouse.

Survival of the fittest should promote vitality to an intelligent
species over the smartening course of generations. Of course, random
car accidents can be rude interruptors to the charm of any divine
fantasy. Glad to know you escaped the chance to be logged and averaged
into an local captured statistic of inconsequence.
