I am searching for understanding as to why so many intellectuals
reject Jesus, yet search for meaning of an equivalent level,
elsewhere.

I gave up Jesus when I was 15. Then I had no religion or philosophy
until my college years, all rolled up in a nice little package called
"Religions of the East". I find that religion that separates man from
G-d to not be my style. I've recently found my home in Judaism and
Kabbalah. I'm still a spiritual infant, but I'm growing thanks to the
help of some others.

I have been a "believer" since my very early childhood. I am in
my waning years, now...

No you're not, you young pup, you. :)

I'm long past the half-way point. I ain't gonna live to be 144
years old, that's for sure.

If that one guy I posted about earlier has his way, you will!

Stacey, I seem to have dropped a few bits in the data transfer,
here. How does believing in Jesus "separate man from God" or was
that not what you were saying?

Christianity seems to imply that the only way to be "saved" is by
belief in Jesus Christ, who is the son of G-d. First of all, we are
all children of G-d, not just one special person. G-d is in all of us.
We don't need to pray to one human man to reach G-d, because G-d is
already in all that exists - the rocks, the trees, humans,
animals...everywhere is G-d.

Jesus was the prime example of
unity with God, and we who are in a state of unity with Jesus are
therefore in a state of unity with God. Isn't this the way it
should be? And, is there a better way, or any other way, for that
matter, to be in a state of unity with God?

The best way is realizing that we already have G-d within us.
