built up by past experiences?
I am still not clear. Do you mean that music has no meaning because
these meters are foreign to them? You see my confusion? I read you
statement above about no meaning in music, then someone pointed out
that in movies, the music was used to emphasize and reinforce feelings
but many said that the movie music didn't usually do this, yada, yada
and you countered that that in a particular movie that you named the
music represented or "meant" the idea of these characters and further
that the meter groupings represented the two different orcs. So I am
confused. Does ONLY this movie score have meaning? is that meaning
because or in spite of the fact that some Westerners find these meters
foreign? or what?
Only that the listeners may assign a meaning, though not inherent in the music itself.
