You're undoubtedly right. I would not seek out these keys for their own
sake, but perhaps I should.
It certainly couldn't hurt! Eb minor is pretty rare, but it's good to have
it for recall when necessary!
Maybe teachers should not
introduce even the key of F till all sharps have been mastered.
I was not serious, of course, altho my book of scales took you thru
all the sharps before F showed up.
I prefer those books that group the scale on fingerings, rather than keys!

I notice you didn't mind stating that you liked the courtesy
reminder, yet you pooh-poohed my idea of the time sig reminder!!
Won't you agree that we all need our little crutches, no matter how
unnecessary they may seem?
Well I only mean using the courtesy accidental in situations where there's a
lot of changing going on, just like the key sigs. If it's in A, you need 3
sharps at the beginning. If one measure has a D#, I'd only want a courtesy
if there were lots of other Ds and D#s in the same measure, or if a passage
went E D# C# in one measure, then E D C# in the next - just so you know it
wasn't an omission on the editor's part. But if it's obvious, absence of
symbols if fine.
Best,
Steve
