Greetings,
In the latest issue of Perfect Sound Forever online music magazine
<http://www.perfectsoundforever.com>, you'll find (among other
things):
ART ZOYD
Their 11-year storm, Part II
"Art Zoyd... (is) mixing the phantasmagoric with the terrene, punching
new holes in the matrix, setting frames around windows of possibility.
Via a confederation of serial and neo-chamber avant-gardisms, they
brew psych-theater blending Bartok with Roualt, Weill with Lovecraft,
Glass with Ernst. What spawned this neo-realist Gothic temperament,
besides a group-common literate mind?"
MICHAEL GARRISON
Forgotten synth pioneer
"Michael Garrison was a holdover from the days when DIY had meaning,
when the now completely corrupted phrase carried definition without
its latter-day mainstream taint. In a small wave of underground,
non-patronized, progressive musics that would soon transmute into the
largely malodorous "neoprog underground," he distinguished himself, in
a struggling community, as a musician with a solid '70's grounding in
the Berlin school of Tangerine Dream and Klaus Schulze, as well as, to
a much lesser degree, Adelbert Von Deyen, Dieter Schutze, and the
European second-stringers."
We're always looking for good writers and/or ideas so let us know if
you have anything to share.
See you online,
Jason
