Quick Impressions -- Hampton Night 1

Wow -- fantastic reunion night!

Just got back to the hotel room, but I figured rmp deserved a few
quick updates. First of all -- it was so great hearing everyone
playing together again. They sounded great -- a couple of small
miscues but none of the sloppy playing that we saw right before
Coventry -- the boys were on tonight.

They opened with some well scripted pieces, which sounded tight -- The
crowd errupted when they started fluff and everyone yelled along with
the lyrics, mad energy at the mothership tonight. A few more tight
well scripted songs until I turned to my buddy and said, it's good,
but all type I so far -- then they busted out Stash and it had a
fantastic Type II Jam. Don't have notes, but the memory of a smile's
all I need.

I didn't know's always fun, Trey played drums while Jon was on the
electrolux. Great to hear Oh kee pa and page played lights out on
Suzie Greenburg. Wow, how many songs can set one have -- another
highlight was Rift, and everyone who was at Cyprus was smiling at the
memory when Water in the Sky came on,. Whoa, how can this set keep
going? Still have the coil and a Bowie?!?!

Set 2 -- Backwards Down the numberline was great -- sounds really
good, so I'm hoping this song has a long future and we get more
compositions along this line in the near future.

Tweezer -- Fantastic, funky jam.

1st Tube -- can anyone not dance when they hear this? Sounded
fantastic!
Hood -- like usual, this one was a highlight for me -- how can you
not feel good about hood?


YEM -- yehaw... great version makes me happy. Great spacy vocal jam...
a bit more beatboxy than average and it kinda sounded like they had a
jaw harp up there somewhere.




Encore -- Grind, Grind Grind was fun, and then they played BATR and
droped these big ballloons from the ceiling. A bunch poped quickly,
but they were cool.

Overall -- very happy about the waulty of the show. I
