Stolen Tools

Hey guys, I've got a problem....I'm an electrician and I work for my
father who has been in business for almost thirty years. I've been
with him about seven. Saturday night somebody broke into our storage
building and stole about two thousand dollars worth of materials. We
filed a police report and all that but I feel like more can be done.
You see, I am ninety nine percent sure who did it. It is a guy who
used to work for us but we had to fire because he came to work drunk
alot. He lives, no lie, about one hundred feet from where the stuff
was stolen! I told the cop, but we can't go in the house and look of
course. It's frustrating...I really just want to bust his ass, but I
can't do that. Insurance will pay, but opur rates will go up. Are we
