Unless there is an observer to observe an event the event itslef is a
probability wave function with an infinate number of possible outcomes.
As soon as the observer looks at the event the wave function colapses
and the event becomes a point or particle. The observer in essence
chooses the outcome since without the observer there is no outcome to
the event. It all comes back to the classic "If a tree falls in the
woods".
